Shenzhen is a global leader in industry and finance. While many export industries are located around Shenzhen, it is also home to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, which is one of China’s three stock exchanges.

Shenzhen experiences subtropical weather throughout the year. The average annual temperature is about 25°C or 78° Fahrenheit. The highest
temperature can be greater than 35°C/95° F and the lowest temperature can reach the 50° F/10°C.

Pack light and casual clothes. Include more formal attire like a suit if you are planning to attend business meetings or go out at night.

Shenzhen’s railway system is extensive and efficient. Overnight trips can be staged from Shenzhen to destinations such as Beijing, Wuchang, Nanchang and Changsha. Tickets can be purchased from the main central station from self-service vending machines located inside the main hall. A five day advance purchase is highly recommended.

Travelers can also take a bus to visit the Shenzhen's neighboring cities. Shenzhen has a very efficient bus system with 44 bus stations all over the city serviced by 95 companies. Three hundred buses run between Shenzhen and Hong Kong every day.
